Whitby & District Lions 6th Annual Charity Beer Festival aims to raise money for various local charities and good causes that Whitby Lions support, as well as supporting Whitby Lions Disability Scooter Programme and the club’s efforts to raise awareness of diabetes.

This year’s event will again be held at the Whitby Mission & Seafarers Centre, Haggersgate, for the second year running, after a very successful year in 2014. The festival is open from Thursday

30th July until Sunday 2nd August, celebrating some of the finest local and regional handcrafted real ales that are produced by a range of widely credited Micro Breweries.

    Whitby Lions Beer Festival

The festival boasts more than 30 real ales and ciders, all available to sample (in ½ pint measures), giving you the perfect opportunity to experience and appreciate the wonderful variety of styles and flavours on offer. In addition, there will also be a variety of perrys to sample, traditionally brewed using only the best quality fruits. Fresh, locally produced food will be available throughout the festival period and may provide a complimentary addition to your choice of beverage.

The festival is open for all to enjoy and in the past has attracted an excellent variety of visitors including families, holiday makers and real ale enthusiasts! Everyone is warmly welcomed to the event, though we do aim to encourage a responsible and relaxed atmosphere for all to enjoy.

On behalf of Whitby & District Lions, we thank you for your past and continued support of this local charity event and look forward whole heartedly to seeing you there!

In 2012, Ted burst onto the silver screen to an unsuspecting audience and delighted film fans with his unique brand of bad bear behaviour. As he grows old disgracefully, his best mate John struggles to let go of childish things and saw his relationship with the beautiful Lori suffer as a result.

Ted 2 sees the next chapter in their enduring friendship and fans will be pleased to learn their antics are even more juvenile than ever. Will John let go of Ted and finally accept his responsibilities as a fully grown man, or will he succumb to the dark side and continue on a path littered with despair and destruction?

Ted (2012) took over £350m at the global box office, marking it a triumph for writer and director Seth MacFarlane, who also provides the voice of Ted. Mark Wahlberg (Transformers: Age of Extinction) returns alongside a new cast which includes Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables, Mamma Mia), Liam Neeson (Walk Among the Tombstones, Taken 3) and Morgan Freeman (The Lego Movie, Dolphin Tale 2).

Inside the head of each and every one of us live five emotions: Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. These figures see us through every new situation that comes our way; in Riley’s case, this means the big move from her home in the Midwest over to San Francisco. She’s struggling to adapt to her new environment, and neither she nor her parents can figure out what she’s feeling.

Cue the five emotions, who spend their time in Headquarters: the part of Riley’s brain that governs her moods. Joy is usually the one in charge, but with so much going on all around her, it seems that keeping Riley’s spirits up might prove more difficult than they all imagined. Can Joy and the team see Riley through this traumatic time?

From the brains behind such hits as Monsters, Inc. and Up comes this innovative and moving animation about the stuff that goes on within our heads. Starring Amy Poehler, Bill Hader and Kyle MacLachlan, Inside Out is a very special cinematic experience that is a treat for all the family.
